DESCRIPTION:
|
Violence is an illness of the spirit that hurts families, children and our community. We invite the community. Participants will learn about the seeds of violence and the nonviolence practices to change how we interact with others in our daily lives. This training is highly participatory and utilizes a popular education approach in which the teachings are produced collectively with the participants and are based on the education model used for the Civil Rights movement. All exchanges are based on respecting spirituality and interfaith.
We invite families, Teens, (from 14-19), educators and community organizations. The Creating Culture of Peace facilitators are Martha Dominguez and Nathaniel Mahlberg who have been involved in peace work for many years and are certified by Janet Chisholm, CCP Coordinator of the Kirkridge Institute, of Bangor, Pennsylvania.
Space is limited and the training is $90 and it includes Saturday, continental breakfast, lunch and afternoon snacks and Sunday, light lunch snacks and dinner. Register now! Send a check made out to Amethyst Luna Coop and mail to Martha Dominguez at 10805 Ralph Ave. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87112. You can help us to offer scholarship for youth and low-income families to attend by adding a donation when you mail your registration. Call Martha at 505-275-0597 or marthcd@earthlink.net. Lets stop violence by gathering and learning together, join us!
