DESCRIPTION:

The Department of Energy wants to push through a disaster—the Global Nuclear Energy Partnership (GNEP)—polluting Southwestern lands, air, and water. DOE is holding public hearings in 4 New Mexico towns at or near sites affected by these very toxic proposals. Hobbs and Roswell would get a LOT of nuclear waste (both national and INTERNATIONAL!!! trucked all over the Southwest and/or up from Mexico) a dirty nuclear waste ‘reprocessing’ plant, greenwashed as a “nuclear fuel recycling center” and a dangerous fast reactor. Los Alamos could get an ‘advanced fuel cycle research facility,’ a very toxic process. Can the Southwest pollute its remaining clean water?
